About My Clients
Mental illness remains a widespread social issue that affects many people globally. One of four people will experience a mental illness in their lifetime. The therapy process is, in many ways an educational experience where individuals can learn about themselves and gain skills necessary to cope with mental health conditions, improve communication, change self-defeating behaviors and manage stress. I am here to listen and help because everyone deserves to feel healthy and whole.
My Background and Approach
I have been practicing as a therapist since 2011. I graduated with a degree in counseling from Nova Southeastern University in 2011. I have worked in the community and education setting. I take a client-centered approach to therapy, I utilize an eclectic approach based on cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and mindfulness, among others. My goal is to create a safe space for all people to express the challenges they face and for them to realize their own strengths and open and open themselves to new positive ways of thinking. My goal is also to create a treatment plan that is culturally sensitive and caters to the client's specific needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Our core beliefs affect how we feel and what we do. Core beliefs are firmly embedded in our thinking and they are the root causes of many of our problems, including our negative thoughts. I believe people can obtain a sense of meaning in their lives once they learn about their values, motivations, and goals and most importantly learning to identify negative thinking and how to change it. My own life experiences have led me to be an empathetic person who finds joy in helping people navigate through life's hardships. I believe a Therapist job is to help people accept, experience and endure the reality of life with all its joys and sorrows without judgment or discrimination.
