About My Clients
I serve clients experiencing entrenched symptoms of anxiety, depression or lack of focus. Many of my clients are undergoing profound shifts in identity or relational dynamics. I work with partners experiencing lack of sexual connection, phase of life shifts or complexities related to ethical non-monogamy. I recognize that unhealthy patterns can become entrenched between people who care deeply for one other and I help partners return to the connection and vulnerability that they have lost.
My Background and Approach
I've been a therapist since 2008 and have had over a decade of therapeutic training, including as one of the few AASECT certified sex therapists at a supervisory level. I trained as a counselor in the heart of San Francisco – land of inclusiveness, sexual exploration and no judgments! I hold a master’s degree in somatic (body integrated) psychotherapy. I address mental health and relational dynamics from the perspective of our embodied selves, utilizing applied neuroscience and mindfulness practices to soften protective defenses and re-inhabit physicality. I will help you break both psychological and physiological patterning that no longer serve you and encourage you to do the work it takes to live the life you want. Utilizing an attachment theory lens, I guide my partnered clients towards reclaiming the space between them as joyful and exciting. I am frequently consulted as a sexuality and open relationship expert in publications such as Insider, MindBodyGreen and The New York Times.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in helping clients improve their relationships and become their most authentic selves, without shame, secrecy or having to fit into anyone else’s concept of “normal”. Most of the suffering we face arises from feeling out of sync with the world around us or with loved one's expectations. Therapy at its best provides a safe and non-judgmental environment to heal and uncover the path to meaningful relationships and self-acceptance.
