About My Clients
I specialize in working with gender/LGBTQIA+ issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, incest and childhood sexual abuse survivors.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who graduated with their Masters of Arts from Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education & Counseling in Spring of 2021. I studied addictions while in school and have extensive knowledge surrounding the relationship between addiction and trauma. I am fundamentally a person-centered counselor which means I like to collaborate with my clients about what it is that is best for them and like to instill a sense choice and liberation in the work we do together. I often will integrate mindfulness, psychoeducation, and creativity into my therapeutic approach because I find them to be the greatest supports. I am trained in both EMDR and Lifespan Integration, which are great protocols use for healing from trauma. I have also participated in a compassion cultivation course as well as a decolonize your practice program that are both at the center of the work I do.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we all have the capacity to heal inside of us, but that trauma often acts as a barrier to our own resources and can make it extremely difficult for us to heal. It is my goal to help clients return back to their own internal resources and create the life that they want. I love to paint in my free time, listen to audiobooks, snuggle with my cat Jelly, see live music, and care for my tiny jungle of plants.
