About My Clients

I work with people who are struggling with stress, anxiety, loss, grief, low self-esteem and self-confidence, and illness or disease. I will teach you how to find the balance between grieving wha you have lost and embracing life's joy and beauty more fully. I have experience working with people who have illnesses that include chronic fatigue, MCAS, POTS, Long COVID, autoimmune disorders, heart attack, SCAD, histamine intolerance, Parkinson's disease, and organ transplants

My Background and Approach

I offer somatic therapy, mindfulness therapy, pklyvagal informed therapy, CBT, narrative therapy, writing therapy, and photography therapy. I will teach you how to rewire your brain and nervous system for a greater sense of calm and resilience. I'll teach you how to better manage difficult thoughts, feelings, and sensations so that you can spend more time being in the present and less time ruminating about the past or worrying about the future. I have spent my career understanding mind body healing from the effects of loss, fear, anxiety, illness, stress, pain, and trauma. When you work with me, there's no going over and over the past. We will focus on supporting you in learning skills to help you feel better in the present and to begin to create a more hopeful future based on what matters most to you. I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor and board certified coach. I have been offering counseling services and teaching mindfulness for 35+ years.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that change is possible. We're all human, we're all struggling with something. We each have the capacity to change when offered compassionate support and guidance and when we're taught effective skills for managing difficult thoughts and feelings. Trying to run away from what feels difficult doesn't work, and it often makes things feel worse. I've found that learning how to meet the difficult events in our lives with kindness and compassion while simultaneously learning how to cultivate glimmers of peace and joy again is the key to healing and returning to a state of balance and wholeness. In my free time, I enjoy photography, walking in nature, bird watching, and cultivating native plant gardens.
