About My Clients
I am a LCSW who is passionate about supporting clients with anxiety, depression, OCD, and mood disorders. As a queer woman, I also love to work with LGBTQIA2S+ folx. In addition to being a therapist, I worked in education for over a decade and also love to support adolescents and families navigating the public education setting.
My Background and Approach
My number one favorite approach is simple- to meet my clients where they are at! I do this by being client-centered and strength-based. Flexibility is also a huge cornerstone of my practice, and ensures that we don’t get stuck in one particular treatment modality. I like to pull from a number of different approaches in order to foster change and promote growth. Some of my favorite treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT- including Exposure and Response Prevention or ERP), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Particularly when working with younger clients, I aim to integrate playful elements like games and art therapy into our sessions. This creates an engaging and interactive experience that allows for self-expression and exploration.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My belief is that each person knows themselves and what they need more than anyone else. As a therapist, my goal is for my clients to feel empowered to be their truest and most authentic selves. For many of us, the stressors and struggles of everyday life get in the way of our ability to do this. And that’s okay! Life is challenging, and we are all just trying to do our best. It is my intention to create a safe space for clients to feel unburdened, to relieve some of the stress of their everyday lives, and to feel welcome and accepted for who they are.
