I am especially passionate about helping young professionals and parents in their 20's-40's rebuild their confidence, self-compassion, and resilience.
My Background and Approach
I offer a non-judgmental, conversational approach to treatment that weaves exploration with practical, evidence-based coping skills rooted in CBT and DBT. After earning my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Santa Clara University, I completed my Masters in Clinical Psychology at the University of San Francisco. Since 2011, I have supported children and families of color through community mental health, youth in both public and non-public school environments, and adults with severe depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorders. I currently lead two adult hospital-based group therapy programs. I am passionate about validating each person's experience, bringing in cultural awareness, validation, and experiences to the session. I have worked with children ages 5-12, youth from 13-17, and adults from 18 years on. I have supported parents in learning to validate themselves and improve their relationships to their children and created child friendship groups to improve social-emotional conn
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are all products of our environments. Culture is primary to who we are and who we grow to become. Where we live, who we grew up with, our role in our family/chosen family, and our cultural backgrounds all play an important part in creating who we are. I am third-generation with grandparents who immigrated to the US from the Middle East. This family history brings forth key elements of my experience and has helped me recognize how instrumental the awareness of culture can be to validating my client's experience.
