About My Clients
I am most interested in working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, providing safe, respectful, and culturally responsive care. I have a strong interest in the experience of minority communities, intersectionality, trauma, grief and bereavement, building healthy relationships, and teaching skills around self-advocacy and boundaries. I also enjoy providing therapy for other therapists; it is so important for us to care for ourselves so we can show up effectively for our clients.
My Background and Approach
I work from a humanistic perspective and believe in a person-centered, strengths-based, emotion-focused approach. I also believe in tailoring my approach to each of my clients’ unique needs. I have experience in teaching cognitive-behavioral, self-compassion, emotion regulation, visualization, meditation, and imagination skills.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The most important thing for me is to meet you where you are at. You are the expert in your life. I want to listen to your experience, and to be present for you, providing a supportive relationship as you learn skills you can use to accomplish your goals. As a queer person, it is important to me to provide therapy that is directly focused on the particular needs of our community. My practice is crafted specifically to work with LGBTQ+ folks.
