About My Clients
Do you often feel that you're moving through life without purpose or a clear path forward? Maybe you've lived with invalidation from those around you and struggle to manage strong emotions. Our goal is to work to control impulsivity and live with intentionality. Together we'll build coping skills, shift your passive approach of determining your life and get you to a place of better understanding your own goals and values—not trying to live your family’s or society’s vision of life.
My Background and Approach
I utilize DBT, CBT, mindfulness, narrative therapy, and solution focused therapy to empower others to enhance self respect, find meaningful relationships, and feel connected to the world around them. For all of my clients, I have the overall goal to developing up your tool box of coping skills to help you with anxiety, panic attacks, intense anger or shame, lashing out at family members, and more. The goal is to help you understand your emotional reactions and body sensations to better control behaviors and urges. You may not have had a choice in what happened to you, and it all might feel unfair, but you have a choice and opportunity to heal together.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
People can sometimes feel that they're "too much to handle" or "not good enough" to be in relationships; to that, I say that I believe that everyone is essentially good. We all make decisions that don't align with our values or have emotions that feel to hard to handle. As a therapist, my highest value is helping others to feel seen and accepted. I believe this to be a necessary piece of the therapeutic relationship to support others in changing behaviors or getting beyond past hurts and getting you closer to a life that feels worth living.
