About My Clients
I've worked to support many transgender and gender expansive kids and their families. This is work that I am passionate about and train other therapists in as well. I also enjoy working with adults who have learned they have ADHD as well of parents with children with ADHD. I believe that more individuals are neurodiverse than not, and as such do not subscribe to a one size fits all treatment philosophy.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. I've worked in residential treatment facilities for youth, day programs for preschoolers who struggled in a traditional preschool environment, school settings and private practice, owning a group practice for several years. I am a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, Approved Clinical Supervisor and am Level II EMDR trained. I use all of these experiences and treatment modalities to create personalized plans that work for individuals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a strong ally of the LGBTQ+ community, with a special focus on supporting transgender and queer youth. My clinical experience will be helpful in knowing how to support you, but I'm more interested in who you are as an individual moving through the world. My sessions include curse words and analogies of random thoughts as they move through my own ADHD brain. My clients have described me as funny, straight forward, personable and someone they would hang out with if I wasn't their therapist. I'm an avid online shopper and lifelong fan of Casa Bonita and all that it entails. I know enough about sports to yell at the tv at appropriate times and have a vast knowledge of Disney characters.
