About My Clients
We're living in a stressful world, so it's no wonder how pervasive our anxiety can be. I often work with young adults, especially as it relates to quarter life issues, such as finding purpose, feeling stuck or isolated. My areas of emphasis tend to be around anxiety, depression, relationships, transitions, sexuality and self-esteem. I have been formally trained to work with and belong to the LGBTQ+ community. Also, as a cancer survivor, I have a deeper understanding of related issues.
My Background and Approach
I was trained with a psychodynamic, LGBTQ+ affirmative orientation. I also consider myself to be relationally oriented and tend to integrate elements of modalities such as CBT, Family Systems and Narrative. I infuse insight, a sense of humor and interventions tailored to each unique individual's needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe when it comes to finding the right therapist, it is crucial to find someone who truly makes you feel seen, understood, and like things really can get better. I concentrate on the relationship between client and therapist, while fostering a climate of collaboration. I support and identify with the LGBTQ+, feminist, social justice and cancer communities.
