About My Clients
First timers to therapy and those taking the leap to try out therapy again seem to appreciate my style. Whether you are rediscovering yourself, going through a stressful time, wanting to process trauma, etc., I'll be here alongside you. I consider the family system, childhood/caregiver attachment, parenting styles, generational trauma, systemic racism, larger society, etc. and all these impacts. I also really enjoy supporting parents and individuals exploring their identities.
My Background and Approach
Building trust and rapport within the therapeutic relationship is important to me. I am also a parent and I know that parenting is one of the hardest jobs you can have, and “adulting” while parenting is hard too. I like to normalize this hard stuff and validate feelings. I believe that we are all out there trying to do our best. I am licensed in the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin, and have done a lot of typical social work previously before my clinical work. I've enjoyed it all. I am also credentialed as a Permanency Adoption Competency therapist as well as on the national level. While this is not the bulk of my caseload, I do still enjoy working with those who are part of the adoption circle.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I practice anti-racism both personally and professionally, as well as anti-oppression. Our world is heavy right now and there needs to be safer spaces to talk about these things, therapy should be one of them.
