About My Clients
I work with a range of clients experiencing difficulty navigating life. Whether those difficulties are big or small, emotional or physical, or due to nuerodivergence, there is always a path forward. I enjoy utilizing a collaborative approach that honors the individuality of each person, couple, or family. Your situation is unique and your solutions will be as well!
My Background and Approach
One of my favorite things about the therapy process is creative problem solving. Sometimes it takes another person to help look at a situation that feels insurmountable before you can see a path forward. Throughout my work in inpatient substance use and community mental health, I learned that each individual and their unique set of strengths and challenges deserves a custom approach. When working together we will consider identity, culture, family background, and neurotype to help build a life that works for you. One part of my work that I love is helping late-diagnosed Autistic adolescents and adults unmask and develop comfort with their neurotype. I come from a Feminist therapy background that is intersectional by nature. I firmly believe therapy does not happen in a vacuum and that the cultural, social, and political climate are important.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy and that everyone is capable of growth. I truly value a holistic approach that considers all aspects of a person. I believe that 'people are not fundamentally good or bad, but that people are fundamentally people'. (Good Omens by Terry Pratchett/Neil Gaiman for my fellow book lovers) I I love animals, believe that dogs belong on the couch, and the answer to "Can I show you a picture of my pet?" is always YES. I participate in advocacy efforts for Autism Acceptance, volunteer with the CrisisTextLine, and am passionate about helping others build confidence to advocate for their needs.
