About My Clients
I work with folks who are feeling a self of dis-ease; thinking to themselves " I just really don't feel like myself lately." Whether is something concrete like a traumatic event or recent life change or something more nuanced, like a feeling you just cant put your finger on or childhood issues I love to work with folks who want to deepen their understanding of Self and live life authentically and feeling better.
My Background and Approach
I believe that my clients would say that my style of relating is; supportive, compassionately challenging and ideally focused on understanding and healing. I create a safe and supportive environment where we focus on process, growth and self awareness. I use my research background in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction to inform my clinical practice. I am a process orientated therapist who focuses on deepening understanding and increasing self awareness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The therapudic relationship is unique in the way that I am with people as the speak the unspeakable and begin to heal from whatever is ailing them. It is my honor to be part of this process. I have worked in various types of settings; in a clinic, field based, crisis centers, hospitals- I truly enjoy my job as an individual therapist because of the deep and meaningful process work that I get to engage in with my clients. I have experience processing trauma, understanding unhealed childhood burdens as well as issues that are brought on by major changes such as welcoming children, change in family structure, job stressors, college and shifts in Self ("I'm not the same as I once was") whether intentional or unintentional.
