About My Clients
My clients are adults who are motivated and curious about their symptoms and how to better manage them. They may be feeling frustrated with their medications (i.e., too many, ineffective) or may be interested in talking about whether medication is a good option to include in their treatment, if not already taking. My clients are open to telling me what does and does not work for them, and are interested in having brave discussions about their lives, their needs and their goals.
My Background and Approach
With nearly 20 years as an LCSW and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I’ve treated a wide variety of clients in all sorts of life circumstances. Making changes in anyone’s life is hard, but I believe that everybody deserves to feel the best they can. Daily stressors and traumatic events can create a whole cascade of other symptoms that impact us over the short and long term. Whether you are just beginning to seek help for your symptoms through psychotherapy, have questions about a previous or current diagnosis, or wish to start or stop psychiatric medications, I can help you consider your options and the risks/benefits of various decisions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It’s important to me that we partner for your care; you are an expert on your life, and I’ll bring my knowledge and skills to help meet your goals. I prefer honest, open dialogue about what is working in your life, and what could use some additional support. Further, with extensive experience in healthcare leadership, being a mental health first responder and as a daily provider myself, I have an interest in supporting those employed in helping professions to help them reduce the symptoms of burnout. I can offer flexible scheduling for those whose shifts don't align with my published office hours, just ask me to see what we can arrange.
