Welcome! I am a queer therapist with a passion for working with folks who have been through trauma, and folks in the LGBTQIA+ community!

About My Clients

I work best with LGBTQIA+ clients, loved ones of LGBTQIA+ folks, and folks who have been through trauma. I have experience and training in the treatment of various traumatic experiences, such as childhood neglect and abuse, attachment trauma, and sexual violence. I am very passionate about working with trans, and gender non-conforming folks, and working with parents looking to support their LGBTQIA+ children.

My Background and Approach

My approach is deeply rooted in attachment, and relational healing. My warmth, and compassion as your counselor paves the way to create the foundation of our relationship, which is unconditional support. I will laugh with you, curse with you, and joke with you. I will empower you, and follow your lead, as I am not the expert in your life! And as someone who doesn’t always quite fit in, I will never put you in a box. I recognize that healing is not linear and may look different for everyone. I will work with you to create goals, and collaborate on strategies, skills, and knowledge to pull from different modalities of therapy. Some of my specialized training includes utilizing TF-CBT, CBT, EFT, CPT, and parts work. I also enjoy integrating body based approaches. I utilize a systemic approach to understand trauma, and various life stressors. I see, and help others see the role systemic oppression, and racism has on various stressors in life, especially within LGBTQIA+ community.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I think it is important to be authentic and genuine in who you are, and to learn how to love and celebrate the parts of you that are different. I also believe that healing from trauma is a lifelong endeavor, and that our traumatic experiences are not wrapped up in a nice bow, completed, and never to be looked at again. As a queer human being, I value non-conformity. I believe in challenging the status quo. I believe in utilizing my privilege to advocate for people within my communities that are oppressed, and marginalized. I also believe that found family is incredibly important - sometimes more important than "blood family," and that is okay! I believe trans rights are human rights. I believe gender affirming care IS healthcare. Everyone has the right to heal, to learn, and to grow in this world! And I believe that working alongside folks who have the courage to heal from trauma, and have the courage to explore who they are is an incredible privilege.
