We can work on calming your body responses and slow those thoughts so we can find the heart of the issue.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is also trained in EMDR trauma processing. I come from an internal family systems, attachment, and emotion focused lens. I love using creativity, brain science, humor, and sometimes the enneagram in my sessions. You'll be able to color, use fidgets, and draw things out during sessions (and yes I even have stickers)! I love working with metaphors especially focused around what my clients are interested in and explaining big topics in easy ways.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Although I am not a part of the LGBTQ+ community, I am a fierce ally and participate in learning from those who are in the community and consulting with others when needed. I hold Christian beliefs and reject the constrictive, harmful, and discriminatory practices that many churches hold. I also aim to create space for those who have left organized religion because of those practices. I embrace neurodiversity as someone who also has ADHD. I aim to take an anti-racist approach to all of my interactions and work to educate myself and learn from others with lived experience. With all of my clients I understand that I will not know your direct experience, but will work to be curious and respectful of where you are at.
