About My Clients

I love to work with people on relationships of all types - couples, family, friends, coworkers, or anyone else who is important to you. I have specialized training to work with diverse people and relationships, including LGBTQ+ people and same-gender relationships; issues related to racism, discrimination, or culture; military and veteran families; open and non-monogamous relationships; and more.

My Background and Approach

I practice evidence-based therapy. I am also a researcher, and my knowledge about relationship research helps me provide the most effective therapies for my clients. My clients can feel confident that the interventions I provide have been shown to be effective. I have a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, and I studied at one of the country's top child/family psychology programs (University of Denver) under the mentorship of several leading relationship researchers and intervention developers. I have seven years of experience serving couples in community and hospital settings. I believe it is important for clients to be able to choose a therapist with the highest level of training, expertise, and experience. I also practice from an affirming, feminist, and anti-racist stance. I have obtained advanced training and specialization in working with diverse identities, and my work takes into account each person's intersectional identity within the social context.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that relationships matter! Everyone deserves to have happy, healthy relationships. This is especially true for people who experience marginalization, discrimination, or high levels of life stress, which can take a serious toll on relationships. That's why I have worked hard to make sure I can serve people of all identities and relationship types. I am a member of the LGBTQ community and active in anti-racism work. I am also a scientific researcher, and I place a high value on evidence-based clinical practice because I believe clients deserve treatments that work. I am an animal lover, a vegetarian, and an environmental advocate. I live with my partner and our senior dog, two cats, and many plants.
