About My Clients
I am passionate about helping individuals navigate neurodivergence (specifically ADHD and/or autism), PTSD, religious trauma, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and mood disorders. I am also a safe space for those who identify within the LGBTQIA+ community who are struggling with identity, gender dysphoria, or self-acceptance. I work the best with individuals age 15+ and families (chosen or biological).
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach centers around individuality and celebrating differences. People are complex beings and therapy is not "one size fits all." Building a strong, therapeutic relationship through open communication is important to me, so let's work together to figure out what best serves you. I like to take a trauma-focused approach and highlight your strengths, but I will also help challenge thoughts and encourage your growth. I have a straight-forward communication style and a no-bullshit approach to therapy, but I also strongly believe that humor and laughter are essential elements of a safe, therapeutic environment. Your jokes, sarcasm, and expletives are all 100% welcome here! Change is an exhausting journey and it’s never easy, but my goal is to create a safe space where your successes are celebrated and setbacks are met with compassion. I’m so excited to see your growth! :)
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify under the queer umbrella and operate with a neurodiverse lens. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, sex and kink positive, pro-choice, polyamory/ENM-aligned, and believe in Health at Every Size (HAES). I also believe that suicide prevention is SO much more than hotlines and semicolon tattoos and “mental health matters” stickers. To me, true suicide prevention lies in acknowledging the fundamental faults in the mental health system and working to dismantle systemic oppression. I believe that no human being is illegal, and I also stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter and Palestine. Once I take my “therapist hat” off for the day, I love to read, hang out with my dog, go to the gym, spend time with friends, get into something artsy, and/or rearrange my living room at 3AM.
