My biggest delight is in helping people who feel outcast, misunderstood, or marginalized to live life to the beat of their own drum.

Licensed Professional Counselor in Houston, TX

About My Clients

My biggest delight comes in helping people push through (and maybe even embrace!) the messiness of being human to living a life you find fulfilling . In my work, the people who seem to experience this most intensely and find healing with this kind of therapy are: people who identify as LGBTQIA+ people who experience psychosis, people who identify as rebels and troublemakers, people who feel outcast, misunderstood, and marginalized.

My Background and Approach

My primary approach to therapy is through connection, presence, and acceptance. There is no judgment here. I want you to feel empowered to be exactly who you are, and to help you discover who you are if you haven’t quite figured it out yet. It’s sometimes easier to find ways to fit in, to avoid, to stay busy, or to distract ourselves. I invite you to slow down, to be present, to imagine stepping outside of the box you feel society has tried to squash you into, and to live your life based on your values. This invitation may feel scary. My reassurance is that it can also be profoundly healing. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a BA in International Studies, Minor in Italian in 2011. I received my Master’s in Counseling from the University of North Texas in 2014 and am licensed by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am also a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

In my work, I have always been drawn to work with those who may feel left behind by society: humans with severe mental illness (including people who hear voices and people plagued by depression), humans who are experiencing homelessness, and humans who have been marginalized or oppressed because of their race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender identity, or faith. Advocating, discussing intersectionality in identities, processing inequities, oppression, and racism, and discussing bigger system issues all play key parts in my work.
