About My Clients
I love working with teachers, therapists, nurses, and others in helping professions to manage stress, burnout, boundary setting, and vicarious trauma; and those with high functioning anxiety, "people pleasers," and perfectionists. I am also passionate about providing clinical supervision for therapists focused on burnout prevention and honing clinical skills for trauma focused care.
My Background and Approach
I have extensive experience working with complex trauma and dissociation, co-occurring ADHD and trauma, and anxiety disorders. I regularly utilize EMDR, parts work, and psychodynamic theories but most prominently I use a person centered and relational approach that embodies respect, inclusivity, honesty, cooperation, and humility. During our first few sessions, I like to gather some history and collaborate together on what your need areas are. I especially like to ask what worked (or didn't) with previous therapists. Typically we'd then begin with exploring coping skills to support with immediate symptom relief and then move towards treating the root cause of your most impactful symptoms. We will collaborate to develop your therapy goals and share in decision making about our work together to ensure you feel empowered and supported throughout the therapy process.
