Kitty helps adults facing the after-effects of trauma go from hopeless, lost, defeated, anxious, and depressed struggling with body image, food and eating, people pleasing, self criticism, and shame spiraling to powerful in their own lives, able to hold healthy boundaries, calm within their bodies, and confident in their purpose and direction so they can live the life they’ve always dreamed of connected with their tribe enjoying a sense of purpose and hope about the future.
My Background and Approach
Kitty Ferguson-Mappus has a comprehensive background in social work, mental health, and healthcare obtained through the University of Texas at Austin. She holds a Master of Science in Social Work, is EMDR Certified, and passionate about client driven outcomes in her work. Kitty brings a unique perspective to her practice, drawing from both personal and professional experiences as a patient and mental health provider working with clients who face medical complexities and trauma. Her experience and expertise ranges from working with teens in foster care, the elderly receiving care in assisted living, palliative care settings, patients with chronic illness, complex trauma, grief, eating disorders in the in patient and PHP settings. Kitty is an eating disorder specialist, Certified Medical Social Worker, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and a former first responder. She is comfortable working with active addiction and eating disorders.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Kitty's dedication to providing compassionate care led her to develop Unbroken Abundance where she currently practices. Her primary focus is on helping individuals and couples overcome trauma, reclaiming a sense of joy, freedom, and embodiment. She works well with folks of all ages including the 65+ community, Police Officers, Firefighters, EMT's, couples, those struggling with body image and their relationship with food, and folks exploring alternative lifestyles. Pretty much nothing phases her! She approaches her work with authenticity, generosity, and compassion, drawing on her training and lived experiences to form strong connections with her clients. She also works in unique ways to get clients on the road to feeling better as quickly as possible. Everyone has the capacity to heal!
