About My Clients
Throughout my career I have developed a passion for working with young adults with trauma and attachment through a developmental lens. I specialize in anxiety and depression, those who have been impacted by trauma, Heath at Every Size (HEAD), LGBTQIA folx, young adults in their transitional stages in life, autism, ADHD and otherwise neurodivergent adults.
My Background and Approach
I strive to create an affirming therapeutic space, and believe that the client-therapist relationship is the most important aspect in anyones therapeutic journey. I pull from evidence based practices, such as (but not limited to) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and have training in EMDR. I work towards catering towards each client's specific needs and goals utilizing a holistic approach and may also pull from modalities such as (but not limited to) mindfulness based practices and Expressive Arts Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Showing up to your first therapy session, you may feel as though you are drowning in a sea of emotions. The most helpful thing that I can do is get in and swim with you. There are two ways of swimming, on the surface, which may look like getting through the day with coping skills, venting, and exploring day to day stressors. The second way of swimming is to dive deep and explore some dark emotional caves that they may be avoiding. Both ways can be challenging and both ways are moving forward. I believe first and foremost that a person's healing and growth is reflective of the therapeutic relationship and the importance of creating individualized holding space for each client. I may be a little bias but I believe everyone can benefit from therapy.
