About My Clients
Are you currently managing chronic health issues? I work with clients who have been affected by illnesses that especially affect cis-gender women or AFAB folks at higher rates (e.g., pelvic pain, auto-immune disorders, GI conditions). My clients are well aware that living with a chronic illness encompasses so much more than symptoms alone. They are also looking to improve their quality of life, mood, sleep, and other concerns. If that sounds like you, reach out!
My Background and Approach
I work together with my clients to establish common goals to improve their wellbeing. I blend evidence-based approaches (CBT, ACT, mindfulness) with a trauma-informed approach, often integrating arousal- and emotion-regulation focused methods. This may involve bottom-up techniques, breathwork and somatic exercises to improve the mind-body connection and wellbeing. Given my feminist orientation, I often engage my patients to de-construct the meanings we have of health that are driven by oppressive systems at large and work to empower them to re-define their own practice of physical and mental self-care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the individualized and attentive care given to individuals experiencing health challenges. I also believe health equity is important and work to improve the quality of care across individuals of various backgrounds. My values stem from my personal experiences with chronic pain and gender bias in medicine, which helps me better understand my clients.
