About My Clients

I often work with clients who may be experiencing emotional or physical symptoms due to past or current traumas. Trauma can manifest itself in the body as pain or sensations, anxieties, or depression (as some examples). I also enjoy working with adult individuals and couples who are struggling with; anxiety, depression, grief, infidelity, communication issues, attachment issues, LGBTQIA+ issues, PTSD, and more.

My Background and Approach

As a marriage and family therapist, I believe in the power of understanding individuals within the context of their broader systems, recognizing that we are all interconnected and influenced by our environments and relationships. I believe that by addressing and working with these broader systems, individuals can experience profound healing, personal growth, and improved relationships. It is my main goal to create a safe for persons of all genders, cultures, ethnicities, sexual orientations, sexual expressions, religious/spiritual backgrounds, abilities, classes, ages. No matter your walk of life, you deserve a safe space, and you deserve to feel heard. I have experience in working with; trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, mood disorders, LGBTQIA+ community, grief, life transitions, substance abuse, marital/relational conflicts, infidelity, self-esteem, boundary issues and more. I specialize in trauma, and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a therapist, I am fervently dedicated to delving into the intricacies of individuals' intersectionalities. My passion lies in amplifying the voices of those who often feel marginalized within the dominant white, male culture, ensuring that their narratives are not only acknowledged but celebrated. I firmly believe that everyone, regardless of background or identity, is inherently deserving of care and respect. My commitment extends to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, providing a safe and inclusive space where individuals can explore their identities without fear of judgment. Additionally, as someone immersed in an intercultural partnership, I possess a deep-seated empathy for the unique challenges faced by intercultural couples. My therapeutic approach is rooted in empowerment and inspiration, fostering a collaborative environment where clients feel empowered to navigate their journeys towards self-discovery and growth.
