About My Clients
Let’s be honest - life can get pretty messy. It’s full of things like change (ugh!), other humans and events out of our control. Maybe you're having a hard time, and you don't even know "why". Maybe your relationships are stressful. Maybe society’s “-isms” (racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc.) are affecting your well-being. In therapy you get to decide what is important! I get the honor of walking with you as we figure out how to help you cope, manage, grow or heal.
My Background and Approach
My background in community mental health has made me comfortable helping people with many kinds of life stressors and mental health experiences such as depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, LGBTQIA+ topics, relationships, etc. My therapy approach depends on your needs, but I primarily work using a mix of Person-Centered and Feminist Therapy values and Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills. This means I prioritize empathy and empowerment while teaching tangible skills to improve communication/relationships, manage emotions and be more mindful. Whoever you are, whatever you are experiencing, you don’t have to wade through the mess, and celebrate the wins, alone. My priority is that you feel seen, heard and understood.
