About My Clients
When you are struggling individually or in your relationships, it can be hard to know where to begin, and harder at times to believe that getting what you need is even possible. You may have feelings you don't understand, experiences that you are trying to make sense of, or patterns that you feel stuck in. Through our conversations together, the therapy process can help you know yourself better and open up possibilities for deepening compassion, connection, and resilience in your life.
My Background and Approach
I offer psychotherapy services for adults, couples, and adolescents. My clients' backgrounds and interests are diverse, as are their struggles and strengths. As such, I draw from a range of modalities to tailor sessions for my clients’ needs. I’m certified in TF-CBT, IFS informed, and experienced in other evidenced-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, and ACT. My niche has been in working with survivors of gender based violence, individuals practicing ENM, and life transitions. My hope is to provide both a space to emotionally vent and to equip you with tools and frameworks for outside of our sessions. In recent years I've been drawn towards Internal Family Systems which posits that we are not a monolith...that inside each of us are various parts with various motivations, feelings, and worldviews...it's in the hearing out these parts that we can gain insight into how to make the whole of our system function with greater peace.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I view the client-therapist relationship as a sacred one, based on compatibility and trust. It’s important that you feel seen and cared for throughout this challenging work.I’m committed to offering a space where you can freely express and feel, while moving towards a deeper engagement with your inner and outer world. My work is informed by my personal identities as a queer cis female mother of two young kids. Prison abolition, harm reduction, and a Free Palestine are important to me. I strive to practice in ways that are honest and aligned with my values. A sense of humor is also essential to me in healing work, and I believe in making room to go deep as well as to have fun in therapy....I truly love what I get to do for a living and look forward to speaking soon!
