About My Clients
The cultural messages we receive about sex and our bodies can make us feel ugly, broken, unworthy, and undeserving of pleasure. I believe that we heal these wounds in relationship: with others, our environment, and within ourselves. I work with individuals, families, couples, and all relationship structures. I strive to create a safe therapeutic space for loved ones to heal together, whether that be friends, family members, or partners.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed clinical social work associate (LCSWA), and I received my Master’s degrees in Social Work and Public Health from UNC Chapel Hill, where my interests focused on LBGTQ+ health and violence prevention. Prior to my work as a therapist, I worked for over ten years in sexual and intimate partner violence prevention and intervention in nonprofits, university, and healthcare settings. You are the expert of your lived experience. My aim is to journey alongside you with curiosity and empathy. I strive to create a collaborative, comfortable, and nonjudgmental space with clients to address their sexual and relationship concerns. I bring a trauma-informed lens to my approach to sex therapy, valuing transparency and trust-building. My hope is to help clients tap into the wisdom and and strengths they already possess in order to grow and heal.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a white, queer, transgender provider. I work alongside and affirm LGBTQ+, kink/BDSM, polyamorous, and sex worker communities who often struggle to find knowledgeable and supportive mental health providers. I welcome people of all size and ability and use a HAES approach. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors: gardening, running, or hiking. I also love making things with my hands, such as making pottery, cooking, and crocheting. Most often, I relax by reading, watching a TV show, and spending time with my partner, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 7 chickens.
