About My Clients
Do constant thoughts about food and body keep you from feeling confident in yourself, connected in relationships, and present at work/school? Eating disorders take up so much mental space and make it hard to focus on the things you love. If you have the desire to break free from disordered eating and feel more connected with your true self, please know that recovery is possible. Therapy can provide you with the necessary tools and help you explore what recovery looks like for you.
My Background and Approach
I wholeheartedly believe that every individual has power within themselves to change their reality for the better. My role is to provide you with the tools to find and use that power to the fullest extent. My approach is based in cognitive behavioral therapy and draws from other evidence based practices as well as psychodynamic and relational theories. Having a wide variety of therapeutic modalities to pull from allows me to tailor this experience to your unique needs. We may spend our time challenging unhelpful thoughts, seeing new perspectives, finding ways to break out of disruptive habits, or exploring early life experiences to understand how they impact you today. I find that therapy works best if we have a collaborative relationship, and I’m committed to creating a nonjudgmental environment to help you show up as your most authentic self.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’m a body-positive and Health at Every Size (HAES)-aligned therapist. This means that I believe helping clients from a lens that places importance on overall well-being rather than focusing on body weight or size, as weight and body size are not reliable indicators of health. Weight loss can often contribute even more to disordered eating and body image issues, which is one of the many reasons I'm passionate about helping individuals shift their focus away from weight loss toward developing a greater sense of self-compassion and body acceptance. I'm dedicated to providing trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and body positive therapy to people of all backgrounds. All sexual orientations, gender expressions, and racial/cultural identities are welcome in my practice.
