About My Clients

I enjoy working with enthusiastic, nerdy humans of all ages. If you struggle with embracing your genuine self or meeting the demands of the world around you, you are not alone. Starting with a new therapist can feel scary, whether you are a first time client or an experienced therapy-goer, so I strive to create a comfortable environment where we can genuinely connect and heal. Come as you are! No matter how you identify or relate to the world around you, you are welcome here.

My Background and Approach

Coming to social work from a background in clinical psychology, I strive to work at the intersection of evidence and lived experience. That is to say, I believe equally in the science behind our brains/behaviors and in the idea that each of us is an expert on our own self. I practice from a person-centered, trauma-informed lens, and I utilize an eclectic approach that includes aspects of parts work, cognitive-behavioral, narrative, and solution-focused therapies. I think one of the beautiful things about this kind of approach is that it gives you a lot of agency to in terms of what works for you and what doesn’t. In addition to these modalities, I also strive to bring genuine connection and humor into the therapy space. I will always honor your boundaries and choices about what to disclose and when. My goal with my clients is to create a collaborative space where you can be who you truly are.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a firm believer that one of the most important aspects of therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. I value my clients as complex human beings who are inherently lovable and capable of healing. I also view therapy as a highly collaborative process - I may help to guide you, but you are the one steering the ship. As a member of the queer and neurodivergent communities, I truly feel that the world needs more spaces for those of us who do not feel like we "fit" within the dominant narratives in our culture. Holding some of that space is why I do this work.
