About My Clients
Do you ever think "Why am I feeling this way?", "what is wrong with me?", or "am I the only one who feels this way?". It can feel shameful, isolating, and hopeless. I promise you are not the only one with these questions. I know it is super hard to have these types of conversations and especially with a strange (like a therapist at first). However, if you'd like to see me, my goal is to earn your trust, listen to your story, support & help you achieve your goals.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Bachelor's from the University of Tennessee (Go Vols!) and my Masters from Duquesne University. I have been practicing for roughly 3 years. I have experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, ASD, ADHD, the LGBTQ+ community, and the kink community. My therapeutic approach is rooted in EMDR and trauma-informed theories, but I also draw from ACT, DBT, and Person-centered theories. I take a holistic approach, considering all the factors that influence your mental health. I prioritize the therapeutic relationship with my clients and will move at their pace regarding deeper, more intense topics.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the power of authentic connection and support, and I strive to model this with all my clients. My highest priority is making sure you feel seen, understood, and supported as we explore your thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and experiences. My approach is to get to know my clients on a human level, not just a clinical one—because you are so much more than a diagnosis or set of symptoms! For me, therapy is a versatile space. It’s a place to explore, have tough conversations, acknowledge and accept different parts of yourself, embrace both strengths and weaknesses, and maybe even create change. With all that in mind, I will accept you as you are and be in your corner every step of the way.
