About My Clients

I specialize in working with youth of color and non-binary femmes dealing with trauma, understanding identity, relationship concerns, cultural dislocation, identity development and spiritual/ancestral reconnection. I deeply enjoy working with BIPOC youth (7-17) who need support navigating this world as neurodivergent, queer, trans and/or living. I support humxns in developing consistent care practices rooted in traditional ancestral knowledge.

My Background and Approach

A strong plant isn’t strong because of the sun or even the water it gets. It is the roots and the network connected to those roots that strengthen the plant. When we are supported by care, we begin to allow our unique abilities, primordial instincts, & one-of-a-kind charm to be fully actualized in this life. The root of your pain is not about you being fundamentally broken or wrong. Together we will bring care to the parts it’s felt taboo to care for due to the pressures of conforming to ableism, oppression and violence. We will collaborate on how to create interdependency in the most important areas of your life while tending to the wounds of harmful cultural beliefs. I am an eco-aware therapist meaning I help people connect with and process difficult feelings around climate change, systemic destruction of the planet. Together we can understand how distress is a natural and reasonable reaction to what is happening and uncover perspectives and tools for embracing the unknown

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My viewpoint is informed by Africana and Indigenous worldviews along with Liberation psychology. I am an advocate for trans rights as well as transformational mental health (combatting sanism, ableism and creating pathways to abolition in mental health). I’ve completed post - graduate trainings in Hakomi experiential processing, EMDR, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and am currently studying Somatic Experiencing. I am an avid practitioner of Vajrayana Buddhism as taught by Lama Rod Owens. These frameworks provide a lens through which I’ve learned how to offer compassionate, non-judgemental co-resonance. My style is dynamic, collaborative, and validating. We may integrate art, ritual, movement, play therapy, sand tray and somatic informed trauma work into sessions depending on your comfort. My hope is that through our work together, you feel supported and challenged to move into your whole self. If you think we’d be a good fit, I look forward to meeting you!
