About My Clients

My ideal client is someone who experiences shame related to their sex life or mental health. Shame is a powerful feeling that disrupts our lives and makes us afraid to try something new. We will explore where that shame comes from whether it is related to trauma, depression, anxiety, or an identity you hold. I love working with people to explore and deconstruct that shame. We will then learn how you can feel empowered to make decisions that are authentic to you!

My Background and Approach

I am a practicing Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in the state of Colorado. I graduated with a master's in mental health counseling from the University of Colorado Denver. I have been practicing sex therapy for two years now. I am currently working towards my sex therapy certification. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, sexual dysfunctions/differences, desire discrepancies, relationship issues, identity issues, and trauma. I cater therapy to what benefits you! How therapy usually looks though is we will explore the problem you are experiencing as well as where the problem came from. We will explore your history and your perception of what is going on. We will then start working on addressing the issue. I like working from an Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) where you will learn to be more mindful of how you are feeling and when your problem is actively present. We will work on finding tools for you to work with those feelings and problems.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe our problems stem from the environment around us. This includes friends, family, colleagues, and broader society itself. We have the behaviors we do because they help us survive growing up. Sometimes, those behaviors stop helping us survive, though and can start being harmful to us. Instead of viewing your problems as maladaptive or "bad", I want to instead explore how these behaviors help or hinder us and the people around us. I am an active member of the LGBTQ community. Social justice is very important to me and I make sure people who work with me feel safe and learn to feel more empowered with the choices they make. I am kink-knowledgeable and enjoy working with open/poly relationships. If any of this resonates with you, we might be a good fit together!
