About My Clients
My clients can make therapy whatever they choose. My practice can consist of arts-based work, such as dance, movement, drama, writing, art, and music, alongside talk therapy. My goal in the therapeutic relationship is to find a place of grounding and connection - a space in which you can feel comfortable enough to share what’s on your mind while also challenging yourself to push beyond what you have in the past, to work through traumatic experiences and come to a place of balance.
My Background and Approach
I am a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist & APCC in the state of California. I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling & Dance/Movement Therapy and a Bachelor’s Degree in Expressive Arts Therapy & Holistic Psychology, both from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. I recently moved to San Diego from Boston, where I worked for an LGBTQIA+ Outpatient Therapy Service called The Home for Little Wanderers. I have also worked in a Partial Hospital Program and work with individuals aged 13 and over. My background in the arts has shaped the way in which I practice. Understanding that trauma is a heavily body-felt experience and that words can be hard to access when in high stress is vital in my work. Because of this, art as a healing mechanism remains in the forefront, as well as talk therapy alongside the arts-based work. I come from a holistic, client-centered, trauma-informed, queer-informed, and culturally sensitive lens.
