About My Clients
I hope to find clients motivated to do the work both in therapy and applying techniques taught into daily activities. I hope to find clients receptive of a high energy collaborative approach to therapy. My goal is to support my clients so they are not dependent on me but learn to trust their own decision making and utilizing coping skills so they can improve their own lives on a daily basis.
My Background and Approach
I went back to grad school because I knew I wanted to help people and have a positive impact on the mental health community. I focused my education on the treatment of mental health in adults. While attending grad school I interned at Kaiser Permanente gaining valuable hands-on experience. I went on to spend several years working in corrections with the chronic and persistently mental ill which taught me to use critical thinking skills while treating complex cases which has greatly influenced my approach in and treatment style. I transitioned into private practice in the last three years. I am passionate about treating bipolar disorder and other mood disorders, relationship issues including co-dependency and narcissistic abuse, as well as anxiety depression and other comorbidities and complex cases.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone should have access to affordable and competent mental health treatment in a compassionate and supportive environment. I strive to overcome stigma and empower my clients to achieve goals and overcome challenges and live the life they see for themselves through applying evidence-based treatment modalities and innovative techniques. I hope for a collaborative partnership where my clients feel safe to express themselves. In my free time I enjoy cooking, travel and spending time with my two cats.
