About My Clients

“I’m not enough” is a fear I’ve wrestled with, and a theme I hear from clients who have experienced trauma, battled identity-based -isms, are wrestling with the complex emotions of being a teenager, and/or coping with the stress of parenting. Some of the questions we may explore in therapy are: “What if we matter simply because we exist? What if the hurt we experienced doesn’t define us? What if we allow ourselves to be human - flawed and powerful - instead of Wonder Woman or Superman?”

My Background and Approach

As your therapist, I will be compassionate, open to feedback, empathic, curious, authentic, flexible, and caring. I will invite you into a healing space, nudging you as needed, but never pushing you beyond what you are ready to do. I will help you establish your goals and we will collaboratively identify concrete steps to help you reach those goals. I strive to meet you where you are to help you heal from past hurts and betrayals, develop healthy relationships that support and honor all of who you are, and cultivate a sense of hope for the future. Practicing self-compassion brings freedom and healing into my life and I strive to offer the same to clients. My goal is to empower you to become a freer, more compassionate, more authentic, you. Ultimately, I want to help you be all of who you are without judgment, offering yourself compassion, and feeling empowered to create a life that is meaningful for you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

One of my core values as a person and as a therapist is to honor and affirm the experiences, identities, and values of others. As the mom of a multiracial family, anti-racism work is particularly close to my heart, but I also strive to be an advocate and ally alongside all individuals who have experienced identity-based oppression, whether that’s based on their race, ethnicity, gender identity, immigration status, religion, sexual orientation, age, or size. Each of us bring unique identities and experiences to the table, and my desire is to create a space where all aspects of who you are feel safe, affirmed, and welcome.
