Do you feel like the world was designed for one type of person, and that you didn’t get or don’t want to follow the rulebook? You’ve experienced rejection, discrimination, invalidation, or misunderstandings due to part of your identity. Hiding parts of yourself to survive leaves you disconnected from your authentic self and depressed, anxious, and ashamed. You're not alone. I’ll help you learn coping skills and examine your story with self-compassion as you build a life you fit into perfectly.
My Background and Approach
In our work together, I'll bring compassion, curiosity, and a dash of humor. I believe the therapeutic relationship provides a nurturing space to access our innate ability to grow and heal. Collaboratively, we will find the strategies and approaches that are right for you. I often use techniques to help you view your life and history with more compassion, to examine and challenge messages you've received about your worth and place in the world, and to recognize your own strength and resilience. Even though many of our difficulties stem from systemic inequalities that can't be easily changed, we can find ways to cope with the stress, find joy, and create authentic, meaningful lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm queer, vegan, and an Autistic ADHDer. My approach to therapy is non-pathologizing because I believe we are not broken, the systems we live in are. I’m LGBTQIA+ affirming, neurodivergence affirming, sex-positive, body-positive, kink and poly informed, and social justice and liberation oriented. I've seen personally that it is never too late to question the messages you've been fed and re-shape your life.
