About My Clients
Have you felt misunderstood or stigmatized for basic parts of your identity, like your sexual orientation or career? Do you find yourself needing help for mental health concerns such as anxiety or depression? Have you tried other therapists and felt judged? I provide a judgment free, safe place for you to talk about your issues and concerns, and I teach tools and skills to help cope with the difficulties mental health can cause in your life.
My Background and Approach
I graduated with my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in May 2021, but I have been working with clients since 2019. I create safe spaces for my clients, where they can be themselves without fear of being judged or stigmatized. I approach my clients as unique individuals with unique needs. I take tools from and have received training in a variety of therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and others. My goal is to help you build a toolbox of at least 5 skills that you can easily go to to help yourself when you are struggling and to build self-care routines and habits so that you are best equipped to prevent or cope with anxiety, depression, or other issues. I help my clients build from the things they already do that are healthy. I help clients identify automatic negative thoughts that are impacting their functioning and work on reframing them into positive self-talk.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy in some way and that there's no one size fits all solution to therapy. Everyone builds unhealthy thoughts and behaviors over time, and it is possible to change those habits and build new ones. I am a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, and I am also Hispanic. I believe that no one deserves to be marginalized or judged because of who they are or what they're going through. I am sex positive, and I support sex workers as well as members of the BDSM, kink, or consensual non-monogamy communities.
