About My Clients
If you have had something on your mind or heart that you feel is holding you back, and you are ready to get support to move forward, I will walk beside you to help you identify your strengths, needs, and motivations. Together we will build and strengthen your skills to help you find your best path. At the end of the day, you are the expert in your own life, and I hope to offer an outside perspective to support you in examining your experiences and/or moving through them.
My Background and Approach
I draw from person-centered, solution-focused, and strengths-based therapy approaches, using elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to encourage clients in goal setting, strengthening skills and achieving growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I understand that things such as age and chronic illness can compromise autonomy, and I strive to support my clients in finding and exercising autonomy and self-advocacy both in their therapeutic journey and in their everyday lives. I believe grief and loss can be felt in ways others don't recognize, and sometimes we even struggle to recognize ourselves - but that doesn't make the grief and loss any less valid and present. I encourage transparency between myself and my clients regarding their needs and progress, and try my best to hold space without judgement. Though I am not a member of the LBGTQ community, I have tried my best to continue learning how to be a better ally. I minored in Gender Studies while completing my BSW, and volunteered at a transgender nonprofit for 3 years helping with their shot clinic and co-facilitating youth groups.
