About My Clients
I strive to work alongside clients, and understand them in all aspects of their lives, to help achieve their goals. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, ADHD, autism, and developmental delays. I believe that each client should receive an individualized approach to therapy, and I will work as a team with each client to develop personalized goals that lead to a healthier, more positive lifestyle.
My Background and Approach
I obtained my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Oakland University in 2021. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Michigan State University in 2017. I have 5.5 years of experience in applied behavioral analysis (ABA) therapy where I have worked with adults with traumatic brain injuries and children with autism spectrum disorder. I utilize an integrative client-centered counseling approach, using techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy and solution-focused therapy to help clients adjust maladaptive thoughts and behaviors and find ways to work through their challenges. However, I have an eclectic style and will find the best suited approach for each client. What’s most important to my counseling approach is building a positive, trusting, nonjudgmental relationship with my clients, which allows my clients to feel safe in therapy. I will assist each client as they walk the path towards healing and healthy change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I work with the Thaar Care Foundation, Inc. The Thaar Care Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. At the Thaar Care Foundation, we believe that all individuals within our community have the right to affordable and high-quality mental health care regardless of ability to pay or availability of insurance. To carry out this mission, we are dedicated to providing education and awareness associated with mental health services, suicide prevention and personal growth through counseling, community involvement and outreach programs.
