About My Clients
Areas of expertise include eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image distress, as well as treating athletes and performers in these areas of concern. She also focuses on those transitioning out of sport maintain valuable parts of the athletic identity and connect with purpose to develop a genuine relationship with food, exercise, and their body. Dr. Streno has significant experience with a variety of clinical presentations, such as mood disorders, personality disorders, and addiction.
My Background and Approach
Dr. Streno maintains a full-time private practice and teaches in the Sport and Performance Psychology Program at DU. She has over 8 years of clinical experience treating a variety of presentations and dual diagnoses in all ranges of acuity. She has consulted with all levels of athletes and performers from a wide selection of performance realms, including dancers and musicians, as well as individuals in business settings eager to shift their work performance. A former athlete herself, Dr. Streno coached high school and college lacrosse.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Dr. Streno is passionate about empowering individuals to align actions with values in order to pursue an authentically-guided life. She believes the therapeutic relationship provides an ideal setting to practice communication, curiosity, acceptance, and accountability necessary to improve one’s daily experience and to find meaning and enjoyment in life.
