About My Clients
I specialize in working with BIPOC LGBTQIA+ folks, as well as those that struggle with addiction, anxiety disorders, complex trauma, depression and personality disorders. I also work with clients to provide awareness and clarity around topics such as identity development, healing from past trauma, emotion regulation, developing and improving communication skills, setting and holding various boundaries & understanding relationship patterns and dynamics.
My Background and Approach
I am passionate about providing trauma-informed and holistic treatment to individuals who may feel unwelcome in their communities due to [both internal and external] perceptions of their identity. I don’t do therapy to you, I do it with you. Using an integrative and collaborative approach, I will find what fits your needs and wants best as we begin our work together. I work mainly from an integrative psychodynamic perspective, incorporating humanistic, mindfulness and trauma-informed practices.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’ve found that my natural inclination is to be authentic, collaborative and creative. I join the folks I work with- owning the fact that I am not some all-knowing expert that can “fix” whoever I sit with. I show up to sessions as a human first, not just ‘your therapist’ and I approach everyone one of my clients in the same way. I aim to integrate restorative justice and awareness into our work. I feel it is vital to address how our unique experiences and identities impact the way we perceive and have been perceived in society.
