Accepting Clients

Welcome! My name is Michelle and I invite you to look around my profile and see if you think we'd be a good fit.

Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington

About My Clients

I have a wide range of experience, but mostly focus on children and teenagers. I specialize in LGBTQ issues, as well as anxiety, depression and OCD. Being a teenager is tough, but dealing with outside influences such as social media, COVID, etc., can add more to your plate. I provide a safe environment where we can talk about you and your needs. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to schedule a time we can connect.

My Background and Approach

I received my master's degree in Psychology from Seattle University. I've worked mainly in community mental health agencies with children and families. I've also worked as a supervisor in a standard supportive housing agency that provides housing to the elderly mental ill who are living in poverty. My LGBTQ training, as well as ongoing trainings help provide me tools to assist my clients and give them the skills needed to succeed. My main focus is on client strengths (what you bring to the table), as well as cognitive behavioral therapy. We develop tools and skills to help you succeed in feeling better, based on what's best for you. Sometimes a teenager just needs a soft place to land and just talk about things or to vent. I can provide that to you as well.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone has the potential to feel better. It can be quite challenging at times, but I feel that given the right tools, someone can wake up one day just a little bit better, which grows over time. Counseling can be a lot of work, but knowing the end result is a happier version of you will hopefully encourage you to continue. As a young woman, I suffered from debilitating anxiety and at times wanted to throw in the towel and never leave my house. I had a great therapist who guided me, allowed me to have setbacks, and saw my reward of overcoming my own anxieties. A few things to know about me personally.... I don't know how to dance. I have a dog, Shelly. She's the best dog in all the land. She likes broccoli and trying to chase birds. I love tacos. If you'd like to "meet" via telehealth, please let me know. Take care -
