About My Clients
I treat adult individuals with a variety of concerns including identity development, body kindness, body liberation, self esteem, anxiety, depression, grief, and LGBTQIA2S+ specific issues. My approach incorporates elements of psychodynamic theory, acceptance and commitment, and mindfulness. I am a member of ASDAH (Association for Size Diversity and Health) and am dedicated to incorporating HAES (Health at Every Size) principles to my practice.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is dynamic and humanistic. My therapy is influenced by my sociological and rehabilitative background that emphasizes cultural competency and cultivating self empowerment inside and outside of the therapy space. I strive to create a space for people to feel safe, respected, and supported while exploring issues contributing to present day stressors. In our therapeutic relationship, I will work alongside you to cultivate a deeper sense of self awareness, self compassion, and constructive ways to cope with life’s challenges. I have experience working with individuals of diverse ethnic backgrounds, disabilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and socioeconomic circumstances.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I firmly believe that we naturally lean towards healing, and I also understand that to be human is to know suffering. We are all deserving of peace, and my intention is to support you in claiming yours. Therapy is a space where we can cultivate meaningful action toward healing as we work to understand how we relate to our suffering. In our therapeutic relationship, I aim to show up as my authentic self - someone who will laugh with you, grieve with you, celebrate you, and support you in navigating life’s challenges while providing insight into tools that ease the process.
