About My Clients
Working with folks of different ages and stages, I love using experiential techniques to create meaningful therapeutic experiences. With kids I use Adlerian play therapy and team up with parents to support positive changes at home. I sometimes invite parents into playful family sessions. With preteens, teens, and young adults, I love to blend traditional talk therapy with expressive outlets like art, sand tray, and movement-based activities.
My Background and Approach
In my counseling practice, I incorporate Adlerian, Person-Centered, Feminist, trauma-informed, and antiracist perspectives. Together we can explore topics of anxiety, depression, suicidality, gender and sexuality exploration, trauma healing, neurodivergence, coping with the weight of oppression, and nurturing spirituality. I received my master's in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from Georgia State University and I've worked in schools and community mental health settings. Before becoming a counselor I had 10+ years of experience working with kids and teens in summer camps, homeschool co-ops, and with families as a nanny.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a queer Jewish nonbinary woman who's big on crafting, gardening, reading sci-fi and fantasy, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and thrifting. Most days off I spend making art or food, relaxing with my dog and partner, and engaging with the queer and Jewish community. I'm a firm believer in approaching therapy from a social justice framework and recognizing that much of what my clients deal with is systemic oppression that cannot be therapized away. Outside of the counseling room I work to advocate for the rights of myself and my clients in the community and the legal sphere.
