About My Clients
My clients are interested in looking at the barriers that are holding them back and exploring ways to overcome those barriers that will work specifically for them and their lives. While we are not always able to control what’s happening around us, we may be able to change the way we are approaching a situation – or we may be looking for the courage to set boundaries, stop people pleasing, or even walk away from something that is preventing us from living our best life.
My Background and Approach
I am a late diagnosed AuDHD therapist and as such, I enjoy working with couples and individual adults particularly focusing on challenges posed by neurodivergence such as ADHD and autism. I also work with a variety of diagnoses and concerns, emphasizing the importance of validating the client’s experience and empowering the client to build a life that works for them. I take a person-centered, culturally sensitive, solutions-focused approach to my clinical work. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process and see myself simply as a guide to help you find the path that will best address your needs, providing an array of tools for you to use as we work through your specific areas of concern.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the field of mental health has missed the opportunity to effectively serve the neurodiverse population in many ways, be it through misdiagnosis, lack of equitable access to assessment and services, or using ableist methods to "fix" things like autism and ADHD. Many of us live in a world that was not made for us - I believe that helping Clients figure out what works best for them in their world can lead to self love, self acceptance, and a much more enjoyable life.
