About My Clients
My goal is to help you reach the fullest expression of your authentic self by increasing your awareness of what you actually want and need. In my practice, I try to challenge clients while maintaining a warm and supportive atmosphere. My style blends humor, openness, and creativity with directness and honesty. I have experience working with clients from all walks of life in a number of settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, shelters, and schools.
My Background and Approach
I look at your history from birth up to now and help you figure out how your current situation formed. Then, I work with you to increase awareness of your patterns in your relationships to others and in your relationship to yourself. Many people find these insights freeing and meaningful for moving forward in their lives. You may have realizations that lead you to more authentic living, doing life on your terms finally. I specialize in assisting my clients to remove painful and limiting mental blockades so that a path to a more fulfilling future becomes clear. My training background also includes certifications in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Hatha Yoga (RYT-200). I use skills sets from these trainings to help you learn more about their physical reactivity to mood symptoms as well as change behaviors that are no longer serving them. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a social worker, I am committed to advocating for my clients in a variety of spheres when need is demonstrated. This is the benefit of seeing a social worker over other types of mental health practitioners. My values as a member of the social work community inform how I address client needs and concerns, looking at the whole person in their environment rather than looking at pathology. In this sense, I strive to make the therapist-client dynamic feel as equal as possible.
