About My Clients
Are you struggling to put your feelings into words? Perhaps you're experiencing anxiety, grief, or a deep sense of disconnection that seems impossible to express verbally. As an adult navigating identity, trauma, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, these challenges can feel isolating. I specialize in working with BIPOC, queer, disabled, female-identifying, and gender non-conforming individuals, as well as fellow adoptees seeking a creative approach to healing.
My Background and Approach
As an LMFT and Board Certified Art Therapist, I blend creative expression with therapeutic techniques to offer a unique approach to healing. Art therapy provides a powerful way to express emotions and experiences that might feel too complex for words alone. Whether you're processing trauma, exploring identity, or seeking deeper self-understanding, art-making can open new pathways for healing and growth. My experience includes supporting individuals through life transitions, identity exploration, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I offer both traditional talk therapy and art therapy interventions, integrating somatic techniques to help you connect with your body's wisdom. No artistic experience is needed – the focus is on the process of creation and discovery. My approach is culturally responsive and trauma-informed, drawing from both professional training and lived experience as an artist and adoptee. I create a safe, non-judgmental space where your identity is welcomed and honored.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Art has been central to my life's journey, both personally and professionally. As a working artist for over two decades and someone deeply embedded in the Los Angeles art community, I believe in the power of creative expression to foster connection and healing. My artwork explores themes of identity, belonging, and transformation. As a reunited adoptee with roots in Latin America, I intimately understand the complex emotions and challenges that come with adoption, reunion, and cultural identity exploration. This personal experience drives my commitment to the adoptee community, particularly supporting fellow adoptees navigating their own unique journeys. I believe that healing happens both individually and in community. By bridging my roles as artist, therapist, and advocate, I strive to create spaces where personal growth and authentic self-expression can flourish. My lived experiences inform my approach to therapy, helping me provide culturally sensitive support.
