About My Clients

Clients I see often carry trauma or attachment wounds and seek to break free from the trauma cycle when talk therapy hasn't been enough. They feel stuck in repeating patterns and desire deeper healing. I'm passionate about providing a safe, affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals (especially trans*/non-binary folx) and deeply connect with geek/gamer/nerd communities (as one myself), integrating these interests into therapy as a trained Geek Therapist.

My Background and Approach

With a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UMass Amherst (2009) and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Westfield State University (2015), where I was honored with the Bazemore, Edwards, & Warner Award for LGBT advocacy, my therapeutic approach is multifaceted. I am EMDR Certified and proficient in trauma-informed modalities including Progressive Counting, Flash, and ART. Furthermore, I am an IPI-trained provider of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy and a trained Geek Therapist, incorporating elements of geek culture like gaming and anime into the therapeutic process. By leveraging these diverse techniques and a compassionate, innovative perspective honed through years of practice, I help clients gain new perspectives, heal from past wounds, and cultivate more empowered and meaningful lives.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that trauma - which I feel has a broad definition from emotional wounding to the kind of things that hit you hard to the things you read about in the news and everything in between - is essentially an accumulation of mental bruises. I also believe that this can be healed by getting to the core, the primary wounds, and working our way up the chain so-to-speak: starting the the earliest stuff and going to the most recent, cleaning out the emotional wounds we find along the way. It is tough work, yes, but it is how we heal from our past. I am also a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and a huge geek/gamer/nerd/otaku, identities that are important to me personally and professionally. These communities and identifies have helped me to heal form past wounds, and I believe in bringing those elements and representation in to the therapy field as well: the power of play and imagination and imagery, all things that the trauma part of our brain responds to very well.
