My Background and Approach
I view my therapeutic role as a collaborator; you bring your expertise on your life, and I bring my knowledge and education on mental health! We work together to achieve your mental health goals using evidence-based approaches. I use an eclectic style of counseling, pulling techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, and positive psychology. All techniques I use are grounded in a person-centered approach so that you can feel at ease expressing yourself in a safe and welcoming environment. I will provide education on mental health issues and the science behind the techniques we use. I love to keep up to date on the latest research and findings in my field, and I will excitedly pass the information along!
