About My Clients
I'm a great fit for clients willing to do the work between sessions and who are open to considering the root of their suffering from new perspectives. I work especially well with the "chronically misunderstood" crowds- the chronically overwhelmed, perfectionistic, intense, and passionate or emotionally expressive folks who are often labeled "too much" or "a lot" by those in their life. If you've often been perceived differently by the world than you experience yourself, I might be a great fit.
My Background and Approach
I have been working in clinical mental health spaces since 2013, providing therapy and assessment services for over 8 years. I apply evidence-based skills and strategies to increase mindfulness, clarify and re-engage with values, and begin to relate differently to your internal experiences with acceptance, flexibility, curiosity and self-compassion. I attend closely to individual, contextual and multicultural factors when considering how best to approach treatment. I have several years of experience successfully treating anxiety, depression, complex trauma, grief, adjustment to life with chronic illness (especially T1D), relationship difficulties, life and career transitions, burnout and perfectionism, OCD, emotion dysregulation, and late-diagnosed or suspected ADHD and Autism (especially in high achieving women). I offer neurodiversity-affirming assessments, with an expertise in complex, nuanced or high-masking cases.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strive to operate from a dialectical worldview that holds space for the countless lived experiences that make up our society, which includes maintaining awareness and humility about my own identities and the context in which I exist. I work intentionally to remain culturally humble, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming and accommodating of various forms of hidden and visible disabilities. I often advocate for those who may be disempowered or otherwise silenced wherever possible, sharing my own lived experiences where appropriate to support folks in the various systems in which myself and my clients operate. In other domains of my life, I am passionate about improving my wheel pottery skills, spoiling my two cats, and hunting for the next antique treasure for my collection.
